  • February 2015

    1. Incorporation

    Lion Tutoring was incorporated on the 23rd February 2015 by Mr. Khathola. This incorporation was influenced by a discovery of a gap in the market that was noticed by Mr. Khathola.The company started running from Mr. Khathola’s private residence in Partial and did not need a fixed a premises, since Mr. Khathola drove to the students’ homes, to provide private tutorial services. 

  • March 2015

    2. Recruiting Tutors

    Lion Tutoring started off with only 3 tutors and one administrator.Today Lion Tutoring has employed 64 tutors actively across the Nationwide branches, most of which are young experienced teachers by profession. .

  • September 2015

    3. The Facility

    Lion Tutoring acquired an area base which serves as the Main Head office and facility for group and individualized tutorial sessions. Visit our office by Extension 4, Plot 431, Gaborone.

  • January 2017

    4. Expansion into Botswana

    Lion Tutoring saw the need to service other cities and towns in Botswana. We service students in Gaborone, Francistown, Palapye, Molepolole, Mogoditshane and Tlokweng.

    5. Botswana Youth Awards

    Lion Tutoring has been nominated by the most votes as the Best Youth Owned Business for the Botswana Youth Awards 2017.

Our Concept

The concept started as an idea from a South African based company, Teachme2; of which Lion Tutoring’s CEO, Thobo Khathola, worked at the company for 3 years during his duration of study. One-on-one tuition is a market that has not been fully tapped into in our local and regional markets, hence the need to establish an organisation that can meet the needs of this market and beyond.

Lion Tutoring is committed to provide quality tutoring services which will increase students’ grades, and give them a better academic standing, a guided career path and a balanced lifestyle.

Organisational Strategy

In pursuit of its short run and long run objectives, Lion Tutoring aims to recruit and retain qualified and experienced staff. The initial operations will be manned by staff compliment of 25, which will be reviewed annually and increased as and when needed.
